Walking your dog is our absolute pleasure!

Your dog will be collected from your home and transported safely in our vehicles to one of the many beautiful countryside walks around St Albans, from open fields to streams and woodland. Their walk starts once we arrive and will last a minimum of an hour, with our dogs being walked in small groups of around 3-5 dogs. We appreciate that walks are about more than just physical exercise to your dog – there are sniffs that need sniffing, new places to explore, friends to play with, so we work hard to ensure that our walks are exciting, stimulating, rewarding and something your dog looks forward to.

Your dog will be towel dried and cleaned up as required before being dropped home, we will check to ensure that they are left with fresh water (feeding if required) and will feedback any issues encountered promptly. 

Please note that regular walking customers are given high priority for home boarding as demand can be very high especially during peak periods.

We offer a real home from home for your dog.

Having boarded dogs in my home for over five years (immediately receiving a five star rating when DEFRA introduced the new regulations), I am very experienced when it comes to settling new guests into my home, giving them the same love and affection as my own dog, Ruby and making them feel a part of our family.  Whilst Ruby provides reassurance and a calm, steady presence for all our visitors.

It is important that your dog feels relaxed and comfortable during their stay, accommodating your normal schedule wherever possible and offering those little extras in line with what is allowed in your home - be that tidbits, treats or sofa time, we can discuss all those extra little indulgences and any concerns you may have leaving your dog somewhere new. Home boarding is a safe alternative to dog kennels with our premises risk assessed as part of the licensing process.

All dogs staying 3+ nights are offered a trial night’s stay (chargeable and required by DEFRA) giving you the peace of mind that your dog is settled and content whilst you are away. 

We offer a free Meet and Greet to all new potential customers in your home, or outside venue at a time convenient to you to discuss your needs and answer any questions you may have.

As a fully-licensed home boarder, I offer doggy daycare suited to your individual dogs needs so please contact me to discuss.

Once a month, we offer a weekend adventure walk for a small group of approx 4 dogs booked on a first come, first served basis.

Your dog will be collected between 9-10am and taken for an adventure walk, exploring places we don’t normally get the opportunity to visit on our Mon-Fri walks. These are extra long walks and not suitable for all dogs, but they are super fun! Your dog will then be dropped home around midday allowing you to schedule some dog-free days out knowing that your dog has had oodles of fun themselves, is tired and going home for a good long snooze. 

We are able to provide visits to your puppy in your home to break up their time alone.

We understand puppy development into adulthood and are very experienced at helping owners make sure their dog’s needs are fully met from when they first come home. It is important that your young pup is not left for more than two hours, has regular meals, play time, and consistent toilet training. We will work with you from before your dog has their final vaccinations to short walks and basic training, building up to a full hours walk when they are old enough. We understand their need to socialise, introducing them to other dogs as they get older. 

At St Albans Dog Walking and Boarding Company, we absolutely love an oldie! 

We recognise the joy and love an older dog can give so we absolutely adore looking after an oldie, whether it is in our home or yours. Often older dogs aren’t able to manage a  full hour long walk but would still love a short walk from their house for fresh air, cuddles and the obvious toilet break.

As key holders we will do our best to make sure our customers (& their family members)  get access to your home without having to call the locksmith!
